Book Two Start

November 27, 2010 at 9:02 pm (Second Book)

I decided that while I wait I would start on my second book. I got a pretty good start on it last night and plan to write a little every night. Hopefully by the time my first book gets to selling pretty good I will get my second book finished and published. It seems that my first book is going to be sold online mostly, but I will make it to where it is out there locally. I already have a deal with the local hasting to put my first book on the shelves on consignment so it will at least be sold there. I’m not sure if I can get it placed anywhere else but we shall see.

To continue about my second book. I started it with a dream much like I did with the first book, but it is a different kind of dream rather than memories of the past. It is more of a haunting of the soul for sins done in the past. There is no one around for the main character Kallisto so she is alone in the beginning, even her twin is gone this time. There will be more twists to this story including the fact that the characters will have many memories to begin with instead of having to learn them all over again.

Vampires will also become a part of the story with the werewolves and we will meet the Amazon tribe that Ramina came from, which is also the tribe that includes the character Shappa Reya from the first book. She’s older, she’s wiser and now she’s the Queen. It will all be very exciting. I seem to have forgotten how much happier I am when I write. I was waiting for the first book to get published and doing things for school so I hadn’t had time to write, but last night I had the itch and started writing. I was smiling the whole time. I love to write more than almost anything. So I will be working vigorously on that and I will be posting new developments in the writing process plus I will be sure to let everyone know as more news comes about my first publishing exploit.

Publishing Wait

November 17, 2010 at 5:01 pm (Uncategorized)

I’m still waiting for the publishing company to send me the manuscript in book format for my approval. After I approve it then my manuscript will be sent to the design department for them to make a cover for my book. They will make two and then I will need to choose one of them for the cover before my book will go into production. I haven’t been blogging much lately because of the wait period and the lack of any news to post on here. I am posting this so that the people interested in my blog will know that I am still here and I will be more active with my blog as more news comes in. Right now the waiting process is long and harsh so it may be awhile before my next blog post. I will be done with this semester of school by the second week of December and I plan to write on my second book then. I will post blogs on the process of that when I start. Hopefully there will be more news about my first book in that time. So for now I will say Adieu, but just for a little while.

Thought of the Day

November 8, 2010 at 8:03 pm (Uncategorized)

I was just thinking today about getting published and I had a thought. There are millions or even billions of writers out there that have gotten published and very few of them become well known. I have friends that tell me to remember them when I’m famous all the time. I wonder if writers think they’re going to be famous if they get published? I for one have never thought I would become famous. I might become kind of famous in my own home town or the county or even the state if I sell enough books, but being famous around the world? I seriously doubt it. Most writers do not become famous unless there is a movie done about their book. And although it would be great for there to be a movie made based off of my book I plan to keep my feet on the ground and not expect much. Until I do get known in some capacity not many people are going to view this blog, but just in case some day my posts do get noticed I want people to know that I come from humble beginnings and even if I do make it far in the writing world I will always be the same person I am today. I am a Christian woman, a mother, a daughter, a granddaughter, a writer, a student, a sunday school teacher, eventually I will be a school teacher, and I am a member of a big family. I am me and I will always be me. No amount of fame will make me someone different. I am mainly writing this to me so that if I do become something I’m not I can look back on this and be reminded where I come from. I believe everyone should have something to remind them of their beginnings so they don’t get bigger than their britches. 🙂

Publish Talk 2

November 3, 2010 at 3:04 pm (Uncategorized)

My materials are all at the publisher now and my book has been placed on the production line. They have chosen the new title for my book and it will now be called ‘Celtic Rose’ and I also found that the only way my book will be published in a few weeks was if I paid for it to be pushed to the front of the line, which I can’t afford so… There are apparently some books ahead of mine and I will have to wait for it to be published but that is just fine at least it’s getting published. The first step is the text line which will transform my manuscript into book style and then it will go to the cover department so that the artist can create a cover for my book. Soon after that it will be printed and made into a book. I can’t wait! But I am going to have to because I didn’t have the $199 to push it to the front of the line. It’s all good though I’m not worried. I was told that I should be receiving an email from the designer before too long.

They told me that the average wait time for a book to be published is over a year, but that their company does it in several months, 6 to 9 months to be exact, and that is a worst case scenario. They have everything for my book right now and as long as I respond to their emails promptly and there are no hang-ups on my end then it shouldn’t even take that long. I don’t plan to hold them up in any way so I expect that my book will be published and ready for the market in a few months, depending on how many books are on the line in front of mine and depending on whether or not other people pay to have theirs pushed to the front of the line. Still I’m not worried and it will be great! 😀
